We’re Here to Meet the Needs of Today

The increasing need for mental wellness

Across the United States and globally, a profound crisis of mental health and well-being is unfolding. Millions are experiencing rising stress, anxiety, disconnection, and burnout. Anxiety has risen for the third consecutive year, with 43% of adults reporting higher levels in 2024 than the year before (APA, 2024). From 2019 to 2022, symptoms of anxiety and depression surged across nearly every demographic (CDC, 2023).

The need to address impacts to attention

The rise of digital media and the commodification of human attention are amplifying this crisis. Excessive screen time, constant stimulation, and algorithm-driven content are linked to higher rates of anxiety, depression, loneliness, and cognitive fatigue—especially among youth and young adults. As attention becomes a monetized commodity, individuals are left fragmented, overstimulated, and emotionally drained.

The importance of addressing substance use disorder

Substance use disorders (SUD) compound these challenges. In 2022, over 46 million Americans met criteria for a SUD, yet fewer than 1 in 10 received treatment. That same year, more than 107,000 people died from overdoses (CDC, 2023), while alcohol misuse contributed to nearly 178,000 deaths (NIAAA, 2023). Families carry much of this burden—one in four children lives with a parent struggling with SUD, often alongside co-occurring mental health challenges (SAMHSA, 2023).

Supporting families

Parents are stretched thin, with one-third reporting high stress levels, significantly more than non-parents (APA, 2024). Workplaces are also deeply affected: OSHA reports that 65%–83% of employees suffer job-related stress, contributing to an estimated 120,000 deaths annually (CDC, 2021). Yet despite the enormity of these challenges, nearly half of those in need do not receive treatment or support (NIMH, 2023).

Our Vision

We envision a world where every person—regardless of background, income, or life circumstances—has the opportunity and support to live a resilient, fulfilling, and connected life. A world where emotional well-being and self-care are not luxuries but essentials, and where practical, evidence-informed tools for mental wellness and personal growth are accessible to all.

What We Do

At TRI Wisdom Institute™, we provide practical, inclusive, and evidence-informed programs that help individuals, families, and communities cultivate resilience, mental and emotional well-being, and a meaningful life.

Inclusion

At the heart of our mission is a strong commitment to accessibility. We believe that no one should be excluded from the opportunity to build a meaningful and resilient life due to financial barriers. As a nonprofit, we offer our training and resources on a sliding scale basis and offer scholarships, ensuring our programs are available to anyone motivated to participate—regardless of economic status.
