SUMMARY:Living Mindfully Fall Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Fall Living Mindfully Retreat with John BrunaOctober 1-4\, or October 1-6\, 2026Attend In Person or Online\n\n\n\nHosted by Way of Compassion Dharma CenterWe are excited to now be able to offer two options for our Fall retreat. You can attend the retreat in our usual format\, from Thursday through Sunday\, or extend your retreat for an addition two nights. \n\n\n\nOur Living Mindfully retreats are offered twice a year\, in the spring and fall\, creating a dedicated space to pause\, reflect\, and reconnect with what truly matters. Each retreat is thoughtfully designed to help you recognize and gently shift unhealthy mental habits and patterns that often lead to emotional and physical distress. \n\n\n\nThrough practical\, accessible teachings\, you will develop skills that support greater clarity\, resilience\, and balance in everyday life. Living mindfully is not about escaping life. It is about learning how to fully engage with it. These practices can help reduce stress\, strengthen your sense of self-worth\, and open the door to a deeper\, more sustainable sense of joy. \n\n\n\nWhile rooted in Buddhist wisdom\, the retreat is offered in a universal\, inclusive way\, honoring and supporting each person’s unique spiritual path or philosophical perspective. \n\n\n\nAt its heart\, this retreat is about cultivating the inner skills needed to live a life that feels meaningful\, grounded\, and genuinely fulfilling. \n\n\n\nThe Blazing Mountain Retreat Center is located in Crestone\, Colorado. Nestled in the majestic Sangre de Cristo mountains of southern Colorado\, the retreat center provides a contemplative and quiet space for undisturbed and undistracted spiritual exploration. We found it to be an ideal location for us to host our retreats. \n\n\n\nJohn Bruna teaching at the Durango Dharma Center\n\n\n\nThe retreat format will include teachings\, meditation\, discussion\, and personal time. The first half of the day will be dedicated to meditation practice. There will be silence until lunch and multiple meditation sessions of 24 minutes with breaks. The afternoons and evenings will include some meditation\, discussions\, question-and-answer periods\, and time to connect with others. For those that choose to stay an additional two days\, that time will be dedicated to additional focus on meditation and silence. \n\n\n\nThe retreat will be facilitated by our spiritual director\,  John Bruna. John has a particular gift for making these valuable teachings accessible and practical for our modern lifestyles. All of his teachings focus on preparing students to properly engage in authentic practice in ways that are effective and meaningful to them. He is known for his warmth and humor\, as well as practicality. \n\n\n\nRetreat Details\n\n\n\nDates: Either October 1st to the 4th or October 1st to the 6th\, 2026The price for the retreat is all-inclusive for the retreat\, lodging\, and meals.
